ITV2 Adds More Weekender to 2018 Lineup

Twofour and Motion Content Group’s popular Weekender brand is scheduled to return to ITV2 for a seventh season next year.

An extended 10×60-minute run of Ibiza Weekender will take place on the White Isle and follow new and old cast members on the titular European party island. The new installment will be executive produced by Gyles Neville for Twofour and Melanie Darlaston for Motion Content Group. It was ordered by Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels, and Satmohan Panesar, commissioning executive, for ITV2.

Neville stated: “Weekender provides the ultimate escapism—the warm characters and hot holiday destinations never fail to be an explosive combination. We’re delighted the funny, continuing soap stories of the reps and their holiday charges continue to be relevant and compelling for the audience.”

Panesar added: “This series continues to grow and its increasing popularity among our young adult audience is a reflection of ITV2’s strategy to build strong program brands that are talked about and well watched.”
