International Sales for Tricon’s Docs & Factual Titles

TORONTO: Tricon Films & Television has secured sales for 120-plus hours of documentary and factual programming, including Rock Icons.

The music biography series Rock Icons has been acquired by Canada’s The Movie Network and Movie Central, and Globosat in Brazil. Globosat also picked up Mars & Venus Today. Meanwhile, Discovery Latin America signed on for the factual series Extraordinary Medicine and Discovery Poland picked up the documentary Abandon Ship.

In Australia, Foxtel snapped up Sistema Revolution, about the inception, development and success of Venezuela’s music program, El Sistema. SBS Australia acquired 20 Moves, about the Rubik’s Cube, which was also picked up by NC+ Poland Planete, along with the documentary Corpus and the factual title Birth of a Car

The technology series Get Connected has been sold to Alhurra in the Middle East and Brand New Media in Asia. Strong Technologies Africa purchased two crime series: To Catch a Killer and I Didn’t Do It. The latter title was also sold to NTV Japan. Yu-Shiu Taiwan picked up Tough Love, which examines the inner workings of the child welfare system, and the coming of age documentary Inocente. In addition, the trivia show On the Spot went to Irib in Iran.
