National Geographic Channels in Europe, Asia and the Middle East and Movistar+ in Spain are among the platforms that have acquired Oliver Stone’s The Putin Interviews, which recently aired on Showtime, from IM Global Television.

IM Global Television closed licensing deals with National Geographic Channels across the Netherlands, Belgium, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia and the Middle East; Movistar+ in Spain; SBS in Australia; TVNZ on Demand in New Zealand; DR in Denmark, Nelonen in Finland; RUV in Iceland; ITI Neovision in Poland; FTV Prima in the Czech Republic; Hot8 in Israel and BluTV in Turkey. This follows the producers licensing rights directly to Sky Atlantic in the U.K. and Germany; Channel One in Russia; Eagle Pictures in Italy, which closed a deal with RAI; and Folamour Pictures in France, which licensed the four-parter to France 3.

Stone conducted numerous interviews with the Russian leader over the course of two years. “If Vladimir Putin is indeed the great enemy of the United States, then at least we should try to understand him,” Stone said.

IM Global Television CEO Stuart Ford and president of international distribution and co-productions, Eli Shibley, noted, “It’s an honor to be working with Oliver and his incredible team in bringing The Putin Interviews to viewers around the world. This is a one-of-a-kind series with global relevance from one of the greatest filmmakers of all time and exactly the type of project that we strive to deliver to our global channel and platform partners.”
