ID and discovery+ have revealed a true-crime slate with more than 450 hours of new series and specials, returning hit shows and reboots of classics for the 2022-23 Upfront season.

The slate kicks off on ID with four blockbuster specials revisiting some of the most famous cases of the ’90s, including Menendez Brothers: Misjudged?, Mary Kay Letourneau: Notes on a Scandal, Who Killed Biggie and Tupac? (w.t.) and The Killer Nanny, all set to premiere throughout August.

In October, ID will commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month with the special Gabby Petito: An ID Murder Mystery, providing an investigation into the disappearance and tragic death of Gabby Petito that made U.S. headlines in 2021.

Brand-new series are Wild Wicked West (w.t.) and Murderer Next Door.

Television adaptations for several podcasts are on the slate, including Disappeared. Who The (Bleep) Did I Marry? will return to screens after a seven-year hiatus, following the success of a recently released podcast of the same name.

Returning series include American Detective with Lt. Joe Kenda, In Pursuit with John Walsh, Undercover Underage, Evil Lives Here, Reasonable Doubt, Murder Under the Friday Night Lights, People Magazine Investigates, On the Case with Paula Zahn and Body Cam, among others.

New podcasts will debut as well, including Hot & Deadly and Deadliest Decade, while podcasts such as Mind of a Monster are set to return with new seasons.

“We are thrilled to continuously innovate in the crime and justice space by challenging the traditional true-crime storytelling format to create impactful, original programming across our ID linear network, discovery+ and podcasts that not only captivates audiences but illuminates figures, cases and forensic revelations that we know our fans care about,” said Jason Sarlanis, president of crime and investigative content for linear and streaming at Discovery, Inc. “That’s why I am so excited to unveil an incredible, expansive slate of programming that’s an impressive combination of fascinating new series and specials, countless hours of fresh episodes from our returning hit series, reboots of series that are near and dear to our ID Addicts and new podcast content. We are delighted to bring our audiences even more of the content they love.”
