COPENHAGEN: A+E Networks UK has extended the distribution of its portfolio of factual-entertainment channels in Norway through a renewed agreement with Get that sees H2 launch on the cable and IPTV platform and expands the reach of HISTORY.

The deal makes H2 available in more than 500,000 homes via the Get network and extends the distribution of HISTORY. H2 is now offered as an optional channel in Get’s Start and Family packages. The channel will be available free of charge to all Get customers until the end of September. Both HISTORY and H2 are offered as HD channels on the Get platform.

H2 airs original programming such as The Universe, Ancient Aliens, The World Wars and America’s Book of Secrets. The channel also features documentaries, including WWII from Space and Gettysburg. H2 is currently available in 15 million homes across the U.K., Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.

Christian Høyer, the regional director for the Nordics at A+E Networks UK, said, “Get is an important partner for us, and we are very pleased that they are adding H2 to their channel lineup. H2 is the perfect companion for HISTORY, turning information into entertainment and allowing history enthusiasts to dig deeper into quality documentaries and series.”

Rune Åsprang, the head of TV and entertainment at Get, added, “We’re excited to offer H2 to our customers. By adding another factual-entertainment channel, we increase the already great variety of channels on our platform, which I believe will be highly appreciated by our customers.”
