FilmRise has signed a deal with The Roku Channel for the streamer to debut the digital-native series BriannaPlayz in the U.S. and the U.K.

The series stars online talent and influencer Brianna Arsement as she takes viewers into the world of Minecraft, where she plays pranks on her friends, challenges Preston Arsement to building battles and more.

Since 2020, FilmRise has been producing programming from successful online talent by seeking out creators of short-form digital content on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and others to produce original, long-form episodes to place on streaming platforms.

Max Einhorn, senior VP of acquisitions and co-productions at FilmRise, said, “We identified a great untapped opportunity early on—that highly popular online influencers could increase their audience reach and fan base by converting their online content into long-form episodes for streaming platform audiences. FilmRise has the unique turnkey ability to identify, curate and produce long-form content from the digital-native space, then monetize and market them on popular free streaming services such as The Roku Channel, as well as our own far-reaching streaming network with great success.”

“The Roku Channel and FilmRise have a strong history of partnering together to bring standout content to streaming audiences,” said Ashley Hovey, jead of The Roku Channel, AVOD. “We are thrilled to be the exclusive AVOD home of BriannaPlayz, as well as the first place that the series will be available off of digital, extending the reach of this great series to households with an estimated 80 million people reached by The Roku Channel.”
