Case Files: Dark Waters Debuts on FilmRise

The new true-crime series Case Files: Dark Waters has debuted on the FilmRise channel in the U.S. and Canada.

Produced by Yeti Television, the CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnership and Radial Entertainment’s Shout! Studios, the ten-part series examines murder investigations in which killers disposed of their victims in bodies of water in an attempt to conceal their crimes.

Each episode delves into the investigative process surrounding a wide range of aquatic crime scenes, from bathtubs and swimming pools to alligator-infested creeks, swamps, open lakes and coastal shorelines. Water-forensic specialists, criminal psychologists and pathologists provide their insights.

Case Files reflects how true-crime audiences are engaging with the genre today,” said Cristina Guggino, VP of co-productions and content partnerships at Radial Entertainment. “The series is designed as an anthology, with each season built around a clear investigative lens and stand-out cases. The debut season, Dark Waters, centers on cases where water complicates the search for answers, and expert analysis is the key to uncovering the truth.”

Jonathan Ford, managing director of Sphere Abacus, commented, “Viewers are deeply engaged by real murder stories, and this gripping true-crime series will not disappoint. We are certain that this series, which features forensics, investigations and accountability, will be a huge success when it debuts on the FilmRise channel.”

Sam Rowden, VP of the content group at AMC Networks International UK, added, “Case Files: Dark Waters offers a compelling exploration of investigations where perpetrators believed water would erase the evidence of their crimes. Through rigorous forensic expertise, the series shows how those assumptions are dismantled and justice ultimately delivered—the very elements that continue to drive true crime audiences. We’re excited to partner once again with Yeti Television, Radial Entertainment and Sphere Abacus on a project with strong international appeal, including in the U.K., where the season is available under the title Body in the Water.”
