FilmRise has teamed up with American Public Television (APT) to release the documentary Mario Lanza: The Best of Everything as part of APT’s Premium Service.

The documentary will air on public television stations across the U.S. starting in late November 2017. Mario Lanza: The Best of Everything celebrates the life and career of the world’s most famous tenor with the “voice from God.” It features interviews with his daughter Elissa; contemporary musicians, including tenors Joseph Calleja and Gianluca Terranova; and rare archival concert footage of Lanza, Maria Callas, Jose Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti.

Danny Fisher, CEO and co-founder of FilmRise, commented, “When a special program such as this one on the life and career of Mario Lanza comes along, we are overjoyed to find the best broadcast home for it. Our partnership with APT allows fans of Lanza to watch the film on public television stations nationwide and subsequently, own the exclusive DVD.”

Cynthia Fenneman, the president and CEO of American Public Television, added, “As the distributor to first introduce The Three Tenors (Pavarotti, Carreras, Domingo) to public television audiences in 1991—one of American Public Television’s most popular programs—we feel confident that this special will be greatly appreciated by viewers, many of whom will fondly recall Mario Lanza from his early televised performances and recordings. This is an exciting opportunity for APT, for public television and our viewers!”
