Escapade Media has landed the distribution rights for Film One’s The Dogfather series.

The 13×30-minute series sees ex-con James Guiliani, who once had ties to some of America’s most notorious crime syndicates, including New York’s Gambino family, exchange his former life as a mobster for his new passion of rescuing animals. The show follows Guiliani as he runs The Diamond Collar pet store in Brooklyn, New York.

Every day, he gets called on to rescue animals of all kinds, from dogs to turtles, and ensures that any animal in need finds a loving and caring home. The show is produced by Canada’s Film One, headed up by Jalal Merhi.

Director of Escapade Media, Anthony Mrsnik, said: “We are so proud to be associated with the show and Jalal and his creative team, and to be able to bring The Dogfather’s story to viewers all over the world. James Gulianis’s passion and love, and his willingness to fight for mistreated animals, is truly inspirational.”
