Discovery Taps A+E Alum Elena Anniballi for Newly Created Role

Discovery Networks has appointed Elena Anniballi to the newly created position of senior scheduling director for male brands.

In the position, Anniballi leads the scheduling strategy for Discovery Channel, Science, Turbo, Discovery History, Shed and Travel Channel, as well as free-to-air brands Quest and DMAX. She is based in London and reports to Simon Downing, senior VP and head of factual and sport.

Anniballi brings over a decade of experience to the role, having joined Discovery from A+E Networks U.K., where she was channel director for male-skewing free-to-air factual channel BLAZE.

Prior to her move to A+E, Anniballi spent ten years as program manager for female-skewing free-to-air entertainment channel Really at UKTV, as well as various other senior scheduling positions. She began her career MTV Networks U.K. and Europe and subsequently moved to Channel 4, where she managed audience research needs for E4 and Film4.

Downing commented: “We are delighted to welcome Elena to Discovery. She brings fantastic experience of building pay-TV and free-to-air brands and has an impressive track record. Her innovative editorial approach and commercial mindset will be invaluable as we accelerate the growth of our male brands across all platforms.”
