A+E Networks UK has commissioned the brand-new series Murder Detective with Graham Hill for Crime+Investigation.

The series will introduce former Surrey Police senior detective and criminologist Graham Hill, who will shed new light on the inner workings of the investigations into ten cases. Produced by Peninsula Television, the series is slated to premiere in the fall.

In each episode of Murder Detective, Hill will pair his detective methodology with forensic science and insider knowledge to provide audiences with his understanding of how the cases were cracked. The episodes will also include key witness testimonies, new interviews, forensic and psychological experts and archive footage.

Hill said: “The ten cases covered in the series are fascinating examples of the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in bringing ruthless and cunning perpetrators to justice. In the series, we aim to bring viewers into the heart of the murder investigations, so they can follow the trials and tribulations faced by the police and the relatives of the victims, every step of the way.”

Diana Carter, commissioning editor and head of talent at A+E Networks UK, said: “Murder Detective is a fascinating premise, and with Graham Hill at the forefront providing his unrivaled experience of criminal investigations, the series explores cases and stories in a distinctive manner that will bring a fresh outlook to our slate of premium true-crime programming. We’re confident Peninsula Television’s production and Graham will be a big hit with our audience.”

David Harvey, executive producer for Peninsula Television, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Crime+Investigation and Graham on Murder Detective. Crime+Investigation is the perfect home for the series, with Graham the ideal presenter. Exploring these cases has been a real revelation and we hope C+I’s audience gets a unique insight into the work undertaken to uncover the truth and provide justice and answers for the victims’ families.”
