discovery+ Set for Brazilian Launch

Discovery, Inc. is set to launch discovery+ in Brazil on November 9 and has partnered with Globoplay to offer a combination package of their services.

Local Brazilian production is planned to be significant for the new discovery+ service, and Discovery’s Latin American production team is working with local and global companies on 40 local titles to be released within the next two years, in addition to over 150 shows in development.

At launch, the series Naked and Afraid Brazil will be available. It is the first version of the show to feature an all-Brazilian cast.

A family genre hub will also be available at launch, featuring local titles such as Mundo Curiozoo and Ba Da Bean. Brazilian audiences will have access to discovery+ originals, including Mini Beat Power Rockers, Earth to Luna and the new series Topo Gigio, as well as other series such as Peppa Pig. discovery+ in Brazil will be the only platform to feature the full collection of Peppa Pig episodes.

International titles that Brazilian audiences will have access to are Perfect Planet, Francesco, The Men Who Sold the World Cup, Onision: In Real Life and many more.

For the first 30 days after launch, Brazilians can access discovery+ for a special annual subscription price of 12 installments of R$16.24. For monthly subscriptions, it will be available for R$21.90. Monthly subscribers will receive a week-long free trial period.

In addition, discovery+ has signed a partnership with Brazilian streaming platform Globoplay for a package that combines the two services. It will cost a monthly fee of R$34.90. Globoplay subscribers can now pre-register for the combo package, which is set to be released on November 17.
