Discovery Promotes Robert S. Scanlon to EVP & GM of Velocity

SILVER SPRING: Discovery Communications has upped Robert S. Scanlon to executive VP and general manager of Velocity and automotive content.

In this role, Scanlon will lead the programming, development, production, marketing and communications for Velocity, and is charged with developing automotive content globally for Discovery Communications. Scanlon will continue reporting to Marjorie Kaplan, the president of content for Discovery Networks International.

Scanlon was previously general manager of Velocity and automotive content. Before joining the network Velocity, he served as VP in the Discovery Communications Emerging Networks Group, where his responsibilities included program development and production for Military Channel and HD Theater.
