SAN FRANCISCO: Discovery Digital Networks has hired Nathan Brown, a digital and production exec, as its senior VP of development and operations.

In his new role, Brown will handle business strategy, audience growth and operational responsibilities for Discovery Digital Networks, collaborating with leadership to expand the business, which currently generates more than 300 million streams across platforms each month. He will work out of San Francisco under Suzanne Kolb, the executive VP and general manager of Discovery Digital Networks. This appointment comes as Discovery Digital Networks gears up to launch a new Seeker network for Millennial audiences online, expands its programming under SourceFed Studios and continues to drive innovative storytelling through DiscoveryVR.

Previously, Brown was the senior VP and general manager of video at The Huffington Post. He has also served as general manager of video and TV at Complex Media. Earlier in his career, he co-founded Rehab Media.

“Nathan is a strong, innovative executive with an intimate knowledge of digital audiences and a proven track record of growing digital businesses,” said Kolb. “I am thrilled to welcome Nathan to the team and look forward to even greater future successes for Seeker and SourceFed.”

“Today’s media landscape is more dynamic than ever, and Discovery is innovating and embracing new platforms and audiences at every turn,” added Brown. “I look forward to working with Suzanne and my new colleagues to advance Discovery Digital Networks’s business and brands.”
