The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is set to invest C$7.3 million ($5.6 million) in 28 documentary projects through its POV Program.

The POV Program is designed to encourage one-off point-of-view (POV) documentary production for both English and French markets. Seventeen English-language projects will receive a C$5.6 million ($4.3 million) investment, while the new French-language portion of the POV Program will deliver C$1.7 million ($1.3 million) to 11 projects.

Production companies receiving funding through the program are based in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

There is still C$1.1 million ($853,000) available for French-language projects only. This second round of funding will open on September 13 and will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible projects with a confirmed Canadian broadcaster.
