Michael Mosley: Wonders of the Human Body, filmed prior to Dr. Michael Mosley’s death in June 2024, is set to air on Channel 5 on August 22.

In the three-part series, Mosley decodes the marvel of design and engineering that is the human body, allowing viewers to see their own bodies in new ways. The program also commemorates Mosley with a tribute from his wife, Dr. Clare Bailey.

In the series, Mosley attempts to track down answers to common questions: Why do we get creaky joints? What happens when we catch the flu? Can we help our brains stay fit as we age? How do doctors replace a hip? He travels the U.K. to hear and share stories that shed light on questions such as these and other hidden marvels of the human body.

Episode one sees Mosley travel to Dundee to meet tremors sufferer Thomas, who is preparing to undergo pioneering brain surgery. He also travels to Southampton, where a man named Allen is finding out if his experimental cancer treatment has been a success. Also, Mosley takes a cold plunge to reveal the health benefits and risks of cold-water swimming.

“One of Michael’s biggest passions has always been to reveal the extraordinary secrets of how our bodies work, to help us understand and look after them,” Bailey said. “He spent several months with the production team, traveling far and wide for the making of this brand-new series.”
