BossaNova Media has closed a slew of sales throughout Europe and North America for a wide variety of factual programs, including Extreme Tow Truckers.

The U.K.’s Channel 5 and France’s AB Sat picked up both seasons of Extreme Tow Truckers, which follows towing companies as they battle for the most lucrative contracts in Australia and New Zealand.

National Geographic Channels US acquired seasons six, seven, eight and 13 of Border Patrol after buying seasons nine through 12 last year. The series is originally produced by Greenstone in New Zealand.

In France, Rare TV’s Cold Case Killers and Stampede Production’s Border Force USA: The Bridges were bought by Planète France, and Border Patrol seasons six through 12 was picked up by AB Sat in addition to Extreme Tow Truckers.

Belle Media Canada acquired Cruising: The Biggest Storm and Andes Tragedy: 50 Years On. CJZ’s Cruising looks at the impact of Covid-19 on an industry that is worth $150 billion globally, employs more than a million people and caters to 32 million passengers. Andes Tragedy: 50 Years On looks back to 1972, when a plane carrying a Uruguayan rugby team disappeared into the Argentinean Andes. RTS and RSI Switzerland also picked up Andes Tragedy.

These series are being presented by BossaNova at London Screenings, as well as The Casketeers. The Casketeers, produced by Great Southern TV, is an ops-doc based in a Maori funeral parlor. Funeral director Francis and Kaiora offer insight into how New Zealand’s indigenous people cope with death, grief and loss.

Other series on BossaNova’s London Screenings slate are Castle Secrets and Ancient Egypt by Train.

“It’s great to be heading into our London TV Screenings on the back of strong sales for several of our flagship series,” said Holly Cowdery, head of sales at BossaNova. “Interest continues to build in BossaNova original Extreme Tow Truckers, while the mighty Border franchise is truly a gift that keeps on giving. We’re expecting more deals this week for our evergreen titles, as well as for our slate of new shows, which include an enchanting series set in a Maori funeral parlor and a trip back to Ancient Egypt with the wonderful Professor Alice Roberts.”
