Blue Ant Orders Frantic Films’ High Maintenance

High Maintenance, a brand-new factual series about super-structures’ maintenance and repair teams, has been commissioned by Blue Ant Media to air in Canada.

Co-produced by Canada-based Frantic Films and Kew Media Distribution, High Maintenance will follow the crews that ensure that critical infrastructure continues to function at its best, sometimes putting their lives on the line in the process. Each episode will explore unique structures and systems such as the Sir Adam Beck Hydroelectric Generating Stations at Niagara Falls, the Montreal Metro and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in California, the world’s largest rotating aerial tramway. High Maintenance is slated to premiere on Blue Ant Media’s Smithsonian Channel in Canada in winter 2020.

Jamie Brown, CEO and executive producer at Frantic Films, said: “There are many shows about how these amazing structures were built, but looking behind the scenes to discover how these specialist teams keep them running is just as incredible. We’re delighted to be working with Blue Ant Media and Kew Media Distribution to bring these remarkable stories to audiences in Canada and around the world.”

Jonathan Ford, executive VP of sales at Kew Media Distribution, added: “High Maintenance has a broad international appeal due to the fascinating structures included in the series from all around the world.  We are offering the series to our wide range of clients in multiple territories whose viewers will be attracted to its innovative approach and unique behind-the-scenes access.”
