Plimsoll Productions has hired Rachel Morgan, who previously worked for the BBC, as head of specialist factual and documentaries, among other appointments at the company.

Morgan will concentrate on specialist factual and documentary programming for both the U.K. and international markets. She is a former commissioning editor for specialist factual at the BBC. Earlier in her career, she was director of programs at Endemol’s Darlow Smithson.

Plimsoll also tapped Jonathan Jackson as finance director and Alison Bennett as head of community outreach. All three executives will work out of the company’s Bristol office.

Jackson previously served as group managing director at DRG. He will manage Plimsoll’s strategic financial affairs and help implement growth objectives and opportunities. Bennett is a former series producer for the BBC. She is charged with organizing Plimsoll’s community outreach that already includes working with the Stephen Lawrence Trust, a partnership with the Channel 4 Production Trainee Scheme and offering six-week work placement for young people from diverse backgrounds.

Morgan stated: “As the frontier’s global broadcasting expands rapidly, Plimsoll is at the cutting edge of that expansion, recognized as one to watch within the U.K. and making huge landmark shows internationally after just four years of existence. I’m excited to be part of the creative and strategic plans of this ambitious company.”

Grant Mansfield, the CEO of Plimsoll, added: “I’m absolutely delighted that Rachel has decided to join our creative leadership team. Plimsoll has never been busier and Rachel’s expertise, experience and success, both as a commissioning executive and an indie producer, will be invaluable as we continue to expand.”
