Autentic has partnered with Monaco’s public broadcaster MCR TV to produce the documentary Monaco Explorations, focusing on scientists researching remote marine environments around the world.

Influenced by Prince Albert II of Monaco’s ocean preservation initiative, over two months, the expedition captured on film will focus on four subject areas between Reunion, Mauritius and Seychelles: the protection of corals, the protection of megafauna, the development of marine-protected areas and the development of new exploration technologies.

Scientists, decision-makers, artists and outreach specialists will pool their skills and unite their efforts in order to raise awareness. Harald Pokieser, a renowned scientific journalist and wildlife filmmaker, will be spearheading the documentary. He has worked for multiple wildlife programs with partners around the world, including ORF, ZDF, Discovery Channel, ARTE, Canal+, National Geographic, Smithsonian Channel and PBS.

Salim Zeghdar, CEO of MCR TV, said, “We are pleased to be joined by Autentic in telling the story of the amazing scientists and experts on board of this expedition. Their work will surely shed a light on the many challenges we will have to face to preserve the health of our oceans. Through this immersive project, MCR TV aims at raising awareness on these important issues.”

Patrick Hörl, managing director of Autentic, added, “It is rare to have the chance to observe some of the world’s top scientists working in this beautiful and hardly ever seen environment. Autentic is proud to join MCR TV in this high-budget project to tell breathtaking stories about those modern-day heroes who help us to understand how vulnerable our oceans are.”
