Adam Richman On Board New VR Travel Miniseries

Ovrture, the youth-focused digital media and virtual reality arm of Red Arrow’s 44 Blue Productions, is developing the new interactive VR miniseries Adam’s Highways and Byways with TV personality Adam Richman.

Adam’s Highways and Byways will be laid out on a map interface in virtual reality, allowing viewers to tour foodie destinations along their route, in 360-degree video, with Richman as their guide. The show will feature such iconic U.S. locations as the Largest Rocking Chair on Route 66, Stagnaro Brothers on the Pacific Coast Highway and Manhattan’s Uncle Vanya.

“The Ovrture team is excited to be developing a nicely interactive VR series that celebrates Americana in such a cool way,” said Ryan Weaver, Ovrture’s head of business development.

Richman added: “For years, I’ve traveled across the country seeking out the best restaurants and must-try foods, so I am excited to bring my fans along on the journey to see my favorite restaurants and sights in an intimate and engaging way. TV and books can only take you so far when trying to convey the amazing nature of any particular location. Virtual reality really allows someone a fully immersive way of experiencing the sights and sounds of these iconic locations, in fact it’s as close as you can come without actually being there. I’m ready to hit the virtual open road, and am especially happy to be partnering with Ovrture and 44 Blue to do so.”
