Big Media Licenses Documentary to Earthx

Big Media has licensed the documentary Leviathan: Whale and Man to Earthx, set to premiere on the platform on Earth Day, April 22, in the U.S.

“We are pleased to add Leviathan to our lineup of entertaining factual programming which celebrates the beauty and awesome wonder of our planet,” said Ross Mason, VP of content for EarthX Media, Inc. “As a powerful documentary on whale conservation and the complex relationship humanity has with our oceans, we are thrilled for its premiere during our Earth Week celebrations as the official network of Earth Day.”

Directed by Steve Lichtag, the film explores whales and their evolving relationship with humanity and the world’s oceans. EarthX is available on platforms such as DIRECTV, Philo, Spectrum and AT&T U-verse. Viewers can also access its streaming channel EarthXtra via Amazon Prime, Fire TV, Plex, Xumo, Sling and Vizio.

Leviathan arrives at a moment when the health of our oceans and the role of large marine species within fragile ecosystems are being widely examined and debated,” said Danny Wilk, president and co-founder of BIG Media. “This documentary combines rigorous scientific inquiry with striking cinematography to explore the evolving relationship between humans and whales within the broader marine environment. EarthX has built a strong reputation for presenting thoughtful, high-quality environmental programming, making it the ideal home for a film that raises timely and important questions about conservation, science and the future of our oceans.”
