Sunny Side of the Doc Reveals SSD x LCM Pitch Official Selection

Sunny Side of the Doc has revealed the official selection of the SSD x LCM pitch sessions for the first edition of LatAm Content Meeting, taking place from March 10 to 12 in Rio de Janeiro.

Eighteen creative teams were chosen to present their projects during the pitch sessions, which are divided into three categories: current affairs and investigation, nature and environment and factual entertainment.

In the current affairs and investigation category, the selected projects are Archaeology of Torture from Manjericão Filmes (Brazil) and Lua Azul Producoes Audiovisuais (Brazil); a program with a confidential title from Hellflower Films (U.K.) and Filmoption International (Canada); The Black Stone from Indio Latino (Bolivia), Atalaya Films (Chile) and Londra Films (Bolivia); The Data Mercenaries from Fulldawa (France) and Cinema Tribu (U.S.); The Gold Diggers from Capuri (Brazil); and Voices Inside Your Head from PULO Filmes (Brazil) and Amana Cine (Brazil).

The nature and environment projects are All Hail the Sloth from 13 PRODS (France), Real Works (France) and Mama Sur (Colombia); Fisher’s Voice from Grama Filmes (Brazil) and Gongzasko (South Korea); Sketches of the End of the World from Tres Tercios Producciones (Chile) and Ajna Cinema (Colombia); South Pole Explorers from Oxitocine (Chile); The Metamorphosis of the Ice Giants from Compagnie des Phares et Balises–CPB Films (France); and Tipping Point from Goldfarb Produções (Brazil) and Muggi Films (United States).

Factual entertainment titles to be presented are Becoming a Man from We Are South (Chile); Flesh from stúdio Celestina (Brazil); Girl Tubers from Enquadramento Produções (Brazil); Hackathon for the Future from La Ventana Cine (Chile); It Is All Relative from Noctua (Brazil); and The Nomads from Novavista Comunicação e Produções (Brazil).

During LatAm Content Meeting, the production teams will provide a video pitch featuring a trailer, a live presentation and a live Q&A. At least three tailored one-to-one meetings with key decision-makers will be organized based on the producers’ wish lists to get into creative and financial discussions.

A jury of industry experts will then select the best pitched project in each session. The three winners will receive a cash prize. As part of the Sunny Side of the Doc pitches path, selected and winning projects will also benefit from its Project Observatory.
