TVF International Expands Summer Slate

TVF International has added over 80 hours of factual programming to its summer slate for Sunny Side of the Doc and Sheffield DocFest.

On the history slate is Channel 4’s Edward vs George: The Windsors at War from DoubleBand Films, which follows the bitter family feud between the kings.

The history slate also includes the CBC documentary Atomic Reaction: Canada’s Secret Role in the Manhattan Project.

Two WWII titles are part of the summer slate as well. Our Dad the Nazi Killer, from Identity Productions, investigates the alleged revenge killings of Nazis living in post-war Australia, while The Day the War Ended, from Fun Job Studios, explores the post-war effects on the people of Taiwan.

On the topic of world affairs, Stacey Dooley: Growing Up Gypsy, from Little Venice Studios, features Dooley as she is invited into the private Traveller community to meet women defying the stereotypes in the maligned minority. Additionally, is the CNA-commissioned series from Mediacorp titled Wombless: India’s Hysterectomy Crisis, which explores forced hysterectomies across India.

Titles from Mediacorp for CNA are The Myanmar Earthquake and Addicted: Inside the Global Drugs Trade. Mediacorp’s slate also includes two new specials of the series When Titans ClashThe Tech and Trade Wars, narrating the trade war between the U.S. and China and The Tariff War Hits Asia which explores the impact of Trump’s tariffs on Asia and the world. China and the Global South is also set to return for a second season.

Environmental and science titles are BBC’s Are We Ready For Net Zero? from Attaboy TV, SR/Arte’s City.Climate.Sustainability from Qatsi.tv and CNA’s The Earthquake Detectives from Mediacorp. Additionally, The Carbon Hunters from CIPM brings viewers on a journey to unravel the secrets of the element. Rounding out TVF’s science offerings is the Visions du Réel documentary from Jeffrey Zablotny Messengers, which is an exploration of the endless vastness of the universe.

On the health and relationships front is the medical ob-doc series Transplant Stories for Knowledge Network, TBS’ Childhood Obesity: A Silent Pandemic for Movistar Plus+ and My AI Relationship from Artefact Films.

Wildlife titles are Discovery’s Bull Shark Face Off: USA vs Australia from Breakout Productions, ZDF/Arte’s Wild Family: Living with Jaguars from Grifa Films and EBS’ The Pacific Ocean. The final wildlife offering is The Cradle of Nature for Migu, exploring the ecosystem of Qinghai-Tibet. Plateau.

TVF has added Knowledge Network’s Wildfire from Burning Films, paired with fishing series Untamed Anglers: The Monster Quest and Licence to Drive from Sweet Productions for Sky NZ, which follows young drivers with disabilities learning to take the wheel.

Lastly, in arts and lifestyle the distributor is launching the biopic Rauschenberg: Everything is Art from Brandmedia Film and aerial documentaries Cambodia From Above and Castles From Above (season two). New seasons Healing Gardens and Wild Coastal Canada have been added to the slate as well.

“Just a few months after launching 140 new hours at the London Screenings, TVF are excited to bring another 80 hours of premium factual and unscripted programming to market this summer,” said Poppy McAlister, head of TVF. “The breadth of titles on our slate, from fresh perspectives on WWII history, to ground-breaking science across the globe, showcases international storytelling at its finest.”

McAlister will be attending the Sheffield Doc Fest this summer. She will also attend Sunny Side of the Doc alongside TVF’s senior acquisitions manager Sam Joyce and senior sales and acquisitions executive, Europe, Ben Nohr.
