Netflix Renews Somebody Feed Phil

Netflix has ordered an eighth season of its Emmy-nominated series Somebody Feed Phil, starring Emmy and Critics Choice Award winner Phil Rosenthal (Everybody Loves Raymond).

The show, produced by Lucky Bastards and a494, is one of Netflix’s longest running unscripted programs. The new season will see Rosenthal continue his global culinary adventure, taking in the local cuisine and cultures of cities around the world.

Rosenthal, his brother Rich Rosenthal and John Bedolis executive produce the series on behalf of Lucky Bastards. Christopher Collins and Lydia Tenaglia executive producer for a494.

Rosenthal is known for creating the hit CBS comedy Everybody Loves Raymond, which went on to win 16 Emmy Awards. He was the showrunner and executive producer for all nine years of the show’s run.

Rosenthal’s first travel food series, I’ll Have What Phil’s Having, premiered on PBS in fall 2015 and received two Taste Awards, as well as the James Beard Award for best television program on location.

For Somebody Feel Phil, which premiered in 2018 and was also created by Rosenthal, he published a companion book, Somebody Feed Phil The Book. He also published a children’s book with his daughter Lily, Just Try It: A Phil and Lil Book.

The seventh season of Somebody Feed Phil debuted in March. The theme song of the series, performed by Lake Street Drive, will be made available on all streaming platforms on October 4, 2024.
