French Sales for TVF International

TVF International has signed a raft of sales with broadcasters in France, including ARTE, TF1, France Télévisions and Canal+.

Canal+ acquired The Big Boss: A 21st Century Criminal and The Negotiators for its Crime + Investigation channel in French-speaking Europe and Africa. For the documentary channel Planete+, the pay-TV operator picked up China’s Dragon Emperor, a two-part series co-produced by Smithsonian and EBS.

ARTE went for Venus: Death of a Planet for its Science et Decouvertes strand. The documentary questions how Venus descended into a toxic atmosphere of volcanic destruction while its sister planet Earth flourished with life.

France Télévisions picked up the 11th season of Skyworks’ The World From Above to sit alongside the previous ten seasons that have aired on France 5. The pubcaster also acquired the one-off travel specials Georgia From Above and UAE From Above from aerial specialist production company Navigation Films.

Mediawan Thematics licensed over 25 hours of U.K. content for the fishing and hunting channel Chasse et Pêche. The package deal includes two angling adventure series from ITV, Monster Carp and Fishing Allstars.

TF1 acquired Channel 5’s Inside Buckingham Palace for a prime-time slot on the news channel LCI and Underwater Universe: The Orda Cave for the nature network Ushuaïa TV. The French commercial broadcaster also acquired a package for the thematic channel Histoire TV, including The Asian Century and The Man Who Shot Tutankhamun.

The Belgian Francophone network RTBF scooped up Arrow’s exposé The Boeing 737 Max: What Went Wrong? The Swiss-French pubcaster RTS licensed The Truth About Fussy Eaters for the magazine show Temps Present.
