JOHANNESBURG: FOX International Channels (FIC) has renewed its partnership with StarSat in South Africa for the continued carriage of four channels, including the flagship FOX network, and increased the deal with the launch of three additional services.

The agreement sees FOX, FX, BabyTV and Fuel continue to be carried on StarSat, while FOX Crime, Nat Geo Gold and FOX Movies will become available to South African subscribers. FOX Crime, dedicated to crime and investigation, features series such as The Bridge and Criminal Minds, along with a Classic Crime block that includes Streets of San Francisco, Remington Steele and CHiPs. The factual-entertainment channel Nat Geo Gold delivers the shows Megafactories, Dog Whisperer and Air Crash Investigation, among others. FOX Movies provides a varied slate of movie entertainment.

“This move is very encouraging for us as a distributor of powerhouse channel brands globally,” said Alessandro Tucci, the senior VP and general manager for FIC Africa. “The FIC Africa strategic plan has been to ensure increased distribution of our key channel brands to all platforms thus strengthening our presence.”
