MIAMI: Cisneros Media has announced the launch of Cisneros Media Distribution, which will handle the company's distribution activities across all platforms.

Formerly operating as Venevision International, the distributor has a catalogue of more than 30,000 hours of programming. Cisneros Media Distribution encompasses products from Venevision Productions, an independent producer of Spanish-language programming in the U.S.; Venevision, the leading broadcaster in Venezuela; and key independent producers from around the world.

Cesar Diaz will lead the unit as VP. He is supported by Miguel Somoza and Daniel Rodriguez, both in the position of director of sales and business development; Daniela Montisci, the distribution and traffic manager; Susana Lopez, advertising and promotions manager; and Niurka Corradino, customer relations coordinator.

A key differentiating factor of the new unit is that there is an increased amount of content coming from third-party producers.

Cisneros Media Distribution makes its official debut at NATPE, where it will be co-hosting the opening night party.

“It’s much more than a change of the company’s name, we have a new corporate mission that spans the globe, expanding with industry innovation as technology breaks down geographical boundaries, distribution barriers and the manner in which audiences view entertainment content,” said Diaz. “What’s more, we are determined to boost our programming catalogue, not only by increasing the output of our affiliated production companies in Venezuela and the Unites States, but by creating a corporate infrastructure to facilitate the drastic buildup and commercialization of third-party products by independent producers—that’s our number one objective in this new era.

“Our entire team is excited about the launch of Cisneros Media Distribution, particularly as we prepare for the coming of NATPE, the year’s first content market… especially since it’s taking place in our own backyard, here in Miami. It’s definitely going to be a dynamic and productive market,” added Diaz.
