REDMOND: Yo-kai Watch 2, a gaming extension of the TV series, is rolling out in the U.S. exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems on September 30.

Yo-kai Watch 2, the sequel to the Yo-kai Watch video game for Nintendo 3DS, will launch in two versions: Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yo-kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls. Each version will feature rare Yo-kai that can only be found in their respective games.  The second season of the Yo-kai Watch animated series will premiere this summer on Disney XD.

Like the original video game, Yo-kai Watch 2 was developed by Level-5. Yo-kai Watch 2 allows gamers to explore outside of Springdale and travel back in time.

In addition to the video game, Hasbro is adding new items to its Yo-kai Watch line this fall. New toys will include the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero from season two of the animated series. Hasbro will also release a new series of collectible Yo-Motion Yo-kai Medals, which are compatible with the new watch, as well as custom Yo-kai Watch accessories, large plush toys and electronic figures. In addition, fans will be able to collect and trade their favorite characters through the Yo-kai Watch trading card game.

“After being such a massive sensation in Japan, it’s great to see the U.S. start to embrace the mischievous and lovable Yo-kai,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive VP of sales and marketing. “We’re excited to continue bringing fun Yo-kai experiences stateside this year.”
