Atomic Cartoons’ upcoming animated Netflix series The Last Kids on Earth, an adaptation of the book series of the same name, will feature a raft of famous names as voice talent.

The series will star Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Men in Black II), Catherine O’Hara (Home Alone, Beetlejuice), Keith David (Coraline, Armageddon), Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead), Garland Whitt (Training Day), Montse Hernandez (Coco) and Charles Demers (Beat Bugs: All Together Now), alongside Nick Wolfhard (Under Wraps) as the lead character, Jack Sullivan. The show will begin streaming on Netflix later this year.

This morning also saw Penguin Random House unveil the cover art for the upcoming 5th book in the series, The Last Kids on Earth and the Midnight Blade, which will be available in September. The announcement of the voice cast also follows the recent news that Atomic Cartoons has entered into a licensing deal with Cyber Group Studios to become the series’ sole representative for merchandising and second-window TV rights.

Written by Max Brallier, The Last Kids on Earth series follows 13-year-old Jack Sullivan and friends, who live in a decked-out tree house, play video games and gorge themselves on candy, all while battling zombies in the aftermath of the monster apocalypse. Brallier will be the series’ creator and executive producer, alongside Scott Peterson, who will also serve as showrunner. Atomic’s Matthew Berkowitz and Jennifer Twiner McCarron are also on board as executive producers.

“The way the series resonates with readers around the world—it’s absolutely humbling. I’m so pleased that the adventures of Jack Sullivan and his friends will continue to grow, both on the page and now on screen,” said Brallier. “I couldn’t ask for better partners—Atomic Cartoons, Netflix and Penguin—to help me share these stories. And I’m beyond excited to reveal the newest cover while announcing this incredible cast. Seeing these actors bring the characters to life is a dream come true.”
