Entertainment One (eOne) has secured a free-to-air broadcaster and licensing partners for the animated superhero show PJ Masks in Mexico.

Televisa will begin airing the first season of PJ Masks in October. Additionally, Bandai México is distributing Just Play’s PJ Masks master global toy line in Mexico. The initial toy range launched exclusively in the market via Liverpool stores on August 26. In addition to Bandai, a roster of licensees has signed on to produce licensed PJ Masks merchandise across key categories in Mexico.

Publishing led the program in July, with Penguin Random House putting out a range of formats, followed by sticker albums from Topps Latin America and activity books from Grupo Bestway. There will be seasonal products from Grezon and the core toy program will also see the addition of apparel licensees Creaciones Guz and E-Fashion. Further ancillary toy categories, including games from Fotorama and dress-up from Operadora Ruz, will be released in the fall.

The consumer products program will continue to grow in 2018 when Productos Infatiles Animados debuts the brand’s first homewares line in January 2018. From spring/summer 2018, the core licensing program will include ride-ons from Bicileyca and Flying Wheels, games from Novelty Corp, back-to-school items from Operadora Ruz and underwear from Emporio Juvenil.

Murilo Hinojosa, the VP of licensing for Latin America at Entertainment One, said, “PJ Masks has been embraced by audiences in Mexico and the addition of Televisa will see the brand’s popularity soar as merchandise begins to roll out this year. We are fully committed to the long-term growth of the property in this key market and we look forward to working with our new partners there to make it a big success.”

PJ Masks airs daily across Latin America on Disney Junior, where it launched in September 2016. Season two is currently in development and is planned for release on Disney Junior in May 2018.
