Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards Celebrates 2020 Winners

The virtually produced Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together telecast, hosted by Victoria Justice, aired over the weekend, celebrating this year’s winners.

Leading the television award winners was Henry Danger, which won for favorite kids’ TV show and favorite male TV star for Jace Norman. Stranger Things took home the gong for favorite family TV show as well an award for Millie Bobby Brown for favorite female TV star. Rounding out the TV award winners were America’s Got Talent (favorite reality show), Ellen DeGeneres (favorite TV host) and SpongeBob SquarePants (favorite animated series).

Avengers: Endgame won for favorite movie, while Dove Cameron and Dwayne Johnson won for favorite movie actress and favorite movie actor, respectively. Frozen 2 was the favorite animated movie, with Josh Gad (Olaf) taking home the award for favorite male voice from an animated movie. Beyoncé (Nala, The Lion King) won for favorite female voice in an animated movie, while Tom Holland as Spider-Man was recognized as the favorite superhero this year.

Music awards went to Ariana Grande (favorite female artist), Shawn Mendes (favorite male artist), BTS (favorite music group), Billie Eilish’s “bad guy” (favorite song), Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita” (favorite music collaboration), Lil Nas X (favorite breakout new artist) and Taylor Swift (favorite global music star).

Other celebs recognized at the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards Celebrates 2020 included David Dobrik (favorite male social star), Annie LeBlanc (favorite female social star), SSSniperWolf (favorite gamer) Minecraft (favorite video game), JoJo Siwa (favorite social music star), Alex Morgan (favorite female sports star) and LeBron James (favorite male sports star).

The awards show also saw a $1 million donation to No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America, in support of those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. James, in addition to winning the sports star award, received Nickelodeon’s 2020 Generation Change Award.
