Nick Renews SpongeBob, PAW Patrol & More

Nickelodeon has greenlit a 12th season of the animated hit SpongeBob SquarePants, and has also renewed the preschool series PAW Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, Rusty Rivets and Nella the Princess Knight.

SpongeBob follows the underwater adventures of the titular character and his friends. The 26-episode new season is slated to premiere in 2019, which marks the show’s 20th anniversary year. PAW Patrol was renewed for a 26-episode fifth installment, while Shimmer and Shine is getting a 20-part fourth season. Rusty Rivets and Nella the Princess Knight are both heading into their sophomore runs, which will comprise 26 and 20 episodes, respectively.

Meanwhile, Nickelodeon International picked up the broadcast rights for the third and fourth seasons of The Day Henry Met, while also renewing the rights for the first two installments. The animated preschool series is produced by Wiggleywoo and distributed by Monster Entertainment. It airs on Nick Jr. and a number of other channels in more than 175 territories around the globe.
