Nick Jr. Lines Up New Season of Teletubbies & More

NEW YORK: Nick Jr. has bolstered its 2017 lineup with a new animated series and season-two pickups for a trio of shows, including the Teletubbies reboot.

DHX Media licensed the exclusive U.S. broadcast rights for 30 new half-hour episodes of Teletubbies to Nick Jr. Josh Scherba, the company’s senior VP of distribution, said: “The new Teletubbies series is winning fans worldwide, and the pickup of another season in the U.S. points to the enduring appeal of this global brand. With all the recognizable favorites as well as new features, the second season is a real treat for audiences both in the U.S. on Nick Jr. and the U.K., where it will premiere exclusively on CBeebies next year.”

Nick Jr. will also see the return of Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small and Hey Duggee, as well as the premiere of Digby Dragon, a new animated series about a young dragon learning to fly, on January 23 at 7 p.m. In addition, the new book-based show Trucktown, set in a world populated by young trucks, is due to debut exclusively in the U.S. on Nickelodeon’s SVOD service NOGGIN tomorrow.
