LONDON: The animated children’s series Hey Duggee is returning to CBeebies for a second season.

BBC Worldwide has commissioned a sophomore season of Hey Duggee from Studio AKA for CBeebies international channels and potential clients. In addition to its success on CBeebies channels, the first season sold into more than 80 territories worldwide, including to France Télévisions, ABC Australia, SVT Sweden and most recently to Nickelodeon in the U.S.

Hey Duggee was created and written by Grant Orchard, the senior director of Studio AKA. The show teaches kids about important life skills such as being responsible, teamwork and taking acceptable risks.

Henrietta Hurford-Jones, the director of children’s content and executive producer of Hey Duggee for BBC Worldwide, said: “With its comedy and charm Hey Duggee works on so many different levels bringing in audiences of all ages and delivering that all important co-viewing experience globally. We’re really delighted with the response to the first series and are looking forward to continuing work with the very talented Studio AKA to deliver another fantastic series.”

BBC CBeebies Controller Kay Benbow commented, “Hey Duggee has fast become a firm favorite on the CBeebies channel, so we are currently earning our ‘Excited Badge’ as we anticipate wonderful new adventures with Duggee and The Squirrels. As Duggee would say ‘A-Woof!’”
