Moon Keys International Content (MKIC), a French distributor founded in 2023 and led by Boris Hertzog (Lift Value, OuiDO Group), has begun business and entered the international market.

The company aims to offer producers a global approach to maximizing their projects’ creative and commercial potential. To found the company, Hertzog brought together a group of financial shareholders including Lift Value, Movie One and CYD Partners.

MKIC is committed to supporting production companies at every stage of their projects. In addition to the traditional minimum guarantee, the company can also provide financial support for development for the project it will distribute. It can also invest in co-productions, bringing finance and the know-how of its team. It can also help finalize financing plans by negotiating presages in specific territories.

Its team includes former Apple France CFO Yvan Depierre, COO; Benoît Pierre, head of development; Candice Baudet, head of partnerships; Clémentine Mellier, head of communications and marketing; and Saban International, Disney, VizMedia, Lagardère, Marathon and Mediawan alum Isabelle Aghina, director of distribution and acquisitions for TV series.

MKIC is already involved in the development of four animated series and two features. It has also initiated several discussions with producers to support their feature and series projects.

Throughout 2024, MKIC’s objective is to invest in two to three series and two to three feature-length animated films, which will be primarily French but also include international projects. The company then aims to participate in the distribution and financing of five series and five feature films per year.

“Our mission is to be a key player in the field of animation by fully devoting ourselves to the development and marketing of original works and intellectual properties,” Hertzog said.
