GoldBee Inks European Deals for First Line

GoldBee has signed new deals for the Canadian live-action teen series First Line in Switzerland and Sweden.

Switzerland’s RTS acquired the free TV and free VOD rights to seasons one and two, while Sweden’s SVT secured the rights for season two.

These new deals add to the previous European deals in place with France Télévisions for free-to-air and free VOD rights; YLE in Finland for exclusive FVOD rights; and RTBF in Belgium for free TV and FVOD rights.

First Line is commissioned by Radio-Canada and produced by Avanti-Toast. Season three premiered in Canada in May.

The series, based on Nadia Lakhdari’s book collection of the same name, follows Chloe, a star athlete who breaks barriers by joining an elite all-boys hockey team.

First Line continues to connect with new audiences across Europe and beyond,” said Christophe Goldberger, managing director of GoldBee. “These latest partnerships highlight the show’s wide appeal and the universal strength of its universal themes: perseverance, self-affirmation and growth.”

Monic Lamoureux, co-president of Avanti-Toast, added, “First Line continues to impress with its outstanding performance. All three seasons have consistently ranked among the most-watched programs across all genres on ICI TOU.TV, with the recent premiere of season three reaffirming the series’ strong appeal. This ongoing success highlights First Line’s deep connection with tween and teen audiences and its growing potential on the international stage.”
