Jetpack Distribution has sealed a series of deals for live-action shows, including Katy.

CBBC’s multi-award-winning series Katy, produced by BBC Children’s Productions, has been sold to Denmark’s DR, Finland’s YLE, Sweden’s SVT, the Netherlands’ NPO, Australia’s ABC and New Zealand’s TVNZ. Sold as three 30-minute episodes or one 90-minute film, Katy targets 8- to 11-year-olds and is based on a book by children’s novelist Dame Jacqueline Wilson (also the author of the Tracy Beaker book series).

The Brazilian SVOD platform Globoplay acquired the rights for the dystopian sci-fi thriller The Cul de Sac and the coming-of-age movie The House on Seahorse Bay. Singapore-based distributor Salt Media Entertainment went for seasons one and two of the preschool puppet series The Moe Show. New Zealand’s TVNZ bagged the rights for season three of The Moe Show.

Israel’s HOT bought The Cul de Sac, while the Middle East-based Etisalat acquired The Baby Club for its ejunior SVOD, which targets mothers and carers and their babies.

Jetpack Distribution’s CEO, Dominic Gardiner, said: “At Jetpack we have been extremely focused on building a diverse portfolio of live-action shows and films, spanning age groups and interests.
We know we are facing challenging times as an industry, but I am heartened to see that quality, engaging content is as valued (and needed!) as ever. These deals are testament to that.”
