Apple TV+ has slated the new special Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical, the first Peanuts musical in over three decades, for July 18.

The new special from Peanuts and WildBrain celebrates the joy of summer camp and the importance of preserving what you love. It features new original music from Emmy Award-nominated composer Jeff Morrow and the Emmy-nominated singer, songwriter, composer and best-selling author Ben Folds.

In the musical, the Peanuts gang learns that their beloved camp is shutting down because there are fewer campers joining each summer. The news saddens Charlie Brown, who feels hopeless about losing a plane that meant so much to him and his friends. Snoopy and Woodstock, meanwhile, discover a treasure map and go on a wild adventure only to be disappointed when they discover it doesn’t lead to riches but rather instruments and photos from past summer concerts held at the camp. The find inspires Charlie Brown and his friends to use the treasure to host their own concert to save the camp.

Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical is produced for Apple TV+ by Peanuts and WildBrain. It is directed by Erik Wiese and is written by Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano. Executive producers are C. Schulz, B. Schulz, Uliano, Paige Braddock, Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts and Logan McPherson.

Apple TV+ is the official and only streaming home for all Peanuts titles through an expanded partnership with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide and Lee Mendelson Film Productions.
