Endemol Shine Launches Two Channels with XUMO

In partnership with OTT platform XUMO, Endemol Shine Group is rolling out a pair of channels, Mr Bean and Friends and Puddle Jumper, which will be available on mobile devices and 20 million smart TVs in the U.S.

Mr Bean and Friends, originally released as a YouTube vertical last year, is meant for young viewers between the ages of 5 and 9. The channel features more than 12 shows from the Endemol Shine catalog, including Mr Bean—The Animated Series and Sea Princesses.

Puddle Jumper also launched on YouTube in 2017. The preschool-skewing channel, which also streams on Roku, offers such kids’ series as Bananas in Pyjamas and The Adventures of Bottle Top Bill.

Wim Ponnet, the chief strategy and commercial officer at Endemol Shine Group, commented: “By working in partnership with a number of platforms, our world-class catalog of content continues to be discovered and enjoyed by new audiences around the world. With their extensive reach, XUMO are perfectly placed to further drive this growth.”

“The addition of premium content from Endemol Shine is valuable to the growth of XUMO’s popular kids and family offerings,” added Stefan Van Engen, the senior VP of content partnerships and programming at XUMO. “We know that homes with children are 38 percent more likely to stream OTT content, and with [channels] like Mr Bean and Friends and Puddle Jumper for younger children, we’re continuing to provide the kind of high-quality content that our family audiences gravitate toward.”
