A raft of content from the BBC children’s channel CBeebies is set to bow on Comcast’s Xfinity On Demand in the U.S., following the recent addition of the network to the Xfinity Latino package.

The BBC Studios programming will launch on July 8 to coincide with the start of Xfinity Kids Week, a week-long event in which a selection of kids’ programming, including many Spanish-language choices, from various networks will be made available to all Xfinity TV customers in the U.S. for free. CBeebies titles that will be available to watch on demand include Hey DuggeeSarah & Duck, Kit & Pup and Yakka Dee.

The announcement comes on the heels of the launch of CBeebies’ live channel as part of the Xfinity TV Latino package. CBeebies airs Spanish-language content as well as original short-form content produced in-region to reflect the bicultural experience of Hispanic children growing up in the U.S.

During Kids Week, all Xfinity TV customers will be able to access and sample the CBeebies content. The BAFTA-winning animated series Hey Duggee follows as the titular dog runs a club for preschoolers, while Sarah & Duck tells the story of the eponymous 7-year-old and her bird friend as they explore the world, teaching kids about friendship and empathy. Kit & Pup, meanwhile, is a mixed-media series that explores the physical properties of different materials, and Yakka Dee encourages children to communicate.

James Wildbore, BBC Studios’ senior VP and general manager for Latin America and U.S. Hispanic, commented, “Comcast is an excellent partner to help bring our most acclaimed children’s content to more U.S. Hispanic audiences. The award-winning CBeebies channel and its programs encourage the positive development of children in a secure environment. This partnership will enable us to expand this proposition and reach more families in the United States.”
