Big Bad Boo Studios has appointed Jerry Diaz, former VP of sales and distribution at Nelvana and WildBrain, as VP of global sales and distribution.

Diaz has more than 30 years of experience, having built sales and distribution channels for iconic brands such as Bob the Builder, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Backyardigans.

Aly Jetha, CEO and co-founder, said, “We’re ecstatic to welcome Jerry. He brings a wealth of experience to increase our reach into new markets as we continue to grow.”

“In addition to growing sales of Big Bad Boo’s library, Diaz will be focused on representing like-minded properties for sales to broadcasters and streaming platforms,” Jetha added.

“I’m very excited to join Big Bad Boo,” said Diaz. “The company is well regarded in the children’s space for creating and promoting positive content that is laser-focused on values we should be passing on to future generations, like empathy, diversity, acceptance and protecting the planet.”

“As we scale, having a robust leader is critical to our ability to produce more shows, gap finance series and expand our development slate. Jerry is just the right person to help Big Bad Boo with this expansion,” said Shabnam Rezaei, co-founder and president of Big Bad Boo.
