LONDON: Entertainment One (eOne) has licensed the broadcast rights for the animated preschool series Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom to Televisa in Mexico.

Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, which comes from Astley Baker Davies, follows the adventures of a fairy princess with magical powers and her elf best friend. The first season of the Emmy- and BAFTA-winning show is due to debut later this month on Televisa, which already airs eOne’s animated hit Peppa Pig.

To support the premiere of Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom on the Mexican broadcaster, eOne is launching a marketing campaign with content tailored to the local market, including character costumes and a localized free app. The company is working on a consumer-products program for the property in the country, with a full merchandise rollout slated to begin next year.

Monica Candiani, the head of international sales at eOne Family, said: “We’re delighted to be extending our partnership with Televisa on Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom. Their support and local market knowledge has been absolutely instrumental to the success of Peppa Pig in Mexico. We look forward to working more closely with them to bring Ben and Holly’s magical adventures into the homes of families throughout the region.”
