Apple TV+ Gives Series Order for Eva the Owlet

Apple TV+ has ordered the animated series Eva the Owlet, based on the New York Times best-selling book series Owl Diaries by Rebecca Elliott.

Produced by Scholastic Entertainment and animated by Brown Bag Films, the series sees creative, cheeky owlet Eva go on adventures with her best friend Lucy, expressing herself in her journal along the way. It is the latest series from Apple TV+’s kids’ changemakers initiative, which brings world-renowned education leaders together with storytellers.

Apple TV+ partnered with changemaker John F. Evans, MAT, M.A., Ed.D., a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach at Duke Integrative Medicine and the founder and executive director of Wellness & Writing Connections. He collaborated with the series’ executive producers and Scholastic Entertainment to develop the show and include lessons around the value of writing as a tool for healthy self-expression.

Executive producers are Scholastic Entertainment’s Iole Lucchese (Clifford the Big Red Dog), Caitlin Friedman (Caster) and Jef Kaminsky (Stillwater). Head series writers Annabeth Bondor-Stone (Helpsters) and Connor White (Helpsters) serve as co-executive producers, and Damien O’Connor (Angela’s Christmas, Angela’s Christmas 2) serves as series director.

Eva the Owlet will also feature original songs from musician and singer-songwriter Fitz of Fitz and the Tantrums.
