ACTF Introduces New Live-Action Series Caper Crew

The Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF), ABC Australia and Screen Australia have revealed the new live-action adventure series Caper Crew will debut on April 10 on ABC iview.

The series, inspired by the true stories of the Kangaroo Gang, notorious Australian criminals who pulled off jewelry heists in the 1960s, centers on siblings Amelia and Kai Delaney, who lead a quiet, boring life until their con-artist grandmother Queenie mysteriously appears on their doorstep and introduces them to the “Ten Commandments,” her personal playbook of mischief.

Queenie’s arrival sparks a hunt for their town’s greatest mystery: the missing Woodspring Nug, a priceless meteorite stolen nearly 30 years ago by Queenie’s Kangaroo Gang, then lost. Amelia and Kai form their own gang, the Joeys, to outsmart Queenie’s old crew and Amelia’s nemesis, Emilia Katinkatonk.

The cast includes Tina Bursill (Strife), Annie Maynard (Colin From Accounts), Guy Edmonds (Hardball) and Michael Theo (Austin).

Caper Crew is produced by Easy Tiger Production for the ABC. Major production investment comes from Screen Australia, the ABC and the ACTF. It is financed with support from Screen NSW. The ACTF is handling distribution of the series.

The series is set to begin streaming on ABC iview on April 10. It will air on ABC Family on April 12.
