Begoña Esteban Shares Pink Parrot Media’s Latest Offering

The international sales company Pink Parrot Media focuses on animated and live-action entertainment for children and families. Its offerings include high-quality CGI or 2D animated films and TV series full of fun and adventure, while its live-action programming often features elements of fantasy, magic and good humor.

“At MIPCOM, we presented MoMonsters: The Movie, based on the series of the same name that has been sold in more than 70 countries,” says Begoña Esteban, Pink Parrot’s head of international TV sales and acquisitions. “It features the same characters, but this time they are no longer in school. The movie takes place in the summer, so they are at a summer camp. And the producers are currently working on a second film—a Christmas story that will be ready for Christmas 2026.”

Esteban also showcased Go Fish+, a 26×11-minute animated series. Just like the film it is based on, the series is eco-friendly and educational. The strange and awe-inspiring sights the characters encounter in the ocean are all based on real-life treasures from the deep.

Another title Esteban is presenting to buyers is My Brother the Monster, also 26×11 minutes. It’s about diversity, kids’ empowerment and social acceptance. The series features Mombou, an adorable, anxious little furball who turns out to be an alien that arrives on Earth—specifically at Violeta’s house, where she adopts him as her brother—and he has to learn everything from scratch. When he feels overwhelmed or bored, he shrinks in size, but when he is calm or happy, he grows into the most tender giant in the world. “The series is full of adventure and comedy, but it also conveys a message and includes values that we believe should be passed on to children,” she says.

Esteban also mentions Louis the Piglet, a series with two seasons of 13×13-minute episodes that weaves messages into the storyline that can be helpful to young ones as they navigate growing up. The show is about a piglet who is bullied by his cousin, Bruno. But Louis realizes he needs to be brave and show self-confidence so he can stop Bruno’s nastiness. “Kids in schools are suffering from bullying; it’s a real problem,” explains Esteban, who says Pink Parrot believes it is timely to address this issue in the context of a show that is still entertaining. “The show doesn’t have to be boring; it can be funny.”

Esteban is responsible for acquisitions in addition to sales. “We are always looking for titles with something special,” she says. “We are a boutique; we are not a big company, so we don’t want to have hundreds of titles. We need to give the market something different.”
