At MIPJunior this weekend, APC Kids is launching three new properties to the international market: the animated series Lana Longbeard and Ewilan’s Quest and the live-action series High Hoops.

Lana Longbeard is a 2D animated comedy/adventure/fantasy series produced by Zephyr (APC Kids’ production arm) and Copernicus Studios for Warner Bros. Discovery (EMEA), Super RTL (Germany), M6’s Gulli (France) and CBC and Family Channel (Canada).

Created by Tony Mitchell and Andrew Power, the series is developed by Baljeet Rai (Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese, The Unstoppable Yellow Yeti, Furry Wheels), who is also the head writer along with Alice Prodanou (Star Stable: Mistfall, Hotel Transylvania, Total Dramarama). Franz Kirchner (Angelo Rules, Rabbids: Invasion, Mighty Mike) directs. It is being delivered in mid-2025.

High Hoops is a live-action comedy produced by Can Can Productions for CBBC in the U.K. Produced by Dominique Molloy, it is directed by Ian Curtis with Rebecca Papworth as executive producer. The series will be delivered in Q4 2024.

In High Hoops, when Aoife O’Neill moves schools, she’s determined to make a change—no longer clumsy, gangly Aoife, she wants to be a cool girl and hang out with the popular crowd. So, joining the school’s lame basketball team at the bottom of the league and the school pecking order is not part of her game plan. Only Aoife, being Aoife, can’t resist the challenge, and she’s soon making changes on the court and causing chaos.

The 2D animated fantasy adventure series Ewilan’s Quest is produced by Andarta Pictures and Vivi Film for France Télévisions. An adaptation of the books penned by Pierre Bottero published in France by Rageot Publishing, the series is written by Pierre-Gilles Stehr, Xavier Vairé, Anastasia Heinzl, Alexandre Manneville and Diane Morel, directed by Eve Ceccarelli, Fabien Daphy and Justine Mettler, and produced by Sophie Saget and Viviane Vanfleteren. It is slated for delivery at the end of 2025.
