FremantleMedia has inked a deal with Denmark’s DR for the factual-entertainment format The Recording Studio, which recently received a BBC One pilot commission.

The Recording Studio was created by FremantleMedia UK’s Boundless. An eight-part local version will be produced by FremantleMedia’s Danish production arm Blu for broadcast on DR1. The format is being launched to the global market at MIPCOM.

Casper Lindstad, development manager at Blu, stated: “The Recording Studio is about stories, about things that can happen to any one of us. We’re excited to partner with DR to showcase Denmark’s own tales of love, loss, sad and happy things, through very personal recordings and emotional reactions. DR’s state-of-the-art studios, symphony orchestra, concert hall and choirs will allow us to bring these performances to life in an incredible way.”
