Something Special’s MIPCOM Highlights

Something Special is highlighting Iron Squad, in which eight teams representing different branches of special forces compete in missions designed by military experts.

“Iron Squad is Korea’s number one reality competition for four straight years, now expanded into a powerhouse franchise with Iron Squad W (female edition) and Iron Earth (exploration-driven spin-off),” says Jin Woo Hwang, founder, president and executive producer.

Unforgettable Duet follows as the families of dementia patients gather mementoes and select their favorite songs to help them recall the past. The format “has caught the eye of many international buyers, having secured three option deals after its first release at MIPCOM last year, with only a month having passed since its Korean premiere, making it one of the fastest format sales records in the Korean format industry.”

Martial Arts: The Show sees teams of martial arts experts transform traditional techniques into stage performances. “Blending precision, athleticism and artistry, each team delivers breathtaking displays that audiences have never seen before,” says Hwang.

He adds, “Korean formats have captured the interest of international buyers for the past several years. We strongly believe that our formats can be ‘something special’ to international buyers.”
