SINGAPORE: The Singapore-based production company Xtreme Media has won the inaugural ATF Formats Pitch competition, held in partnership with all3media International.

Xtreme Media will receive a prize worth S$20,000 ($14,000) from all3media International for its format pitch Hit It. Planned as a weekly series, each episode will feature two teams competing against each other in a series of comedic challenges that put a spin on sports. The prize—comprising a S$3,500 cash award and S$16,500 customized consultancy package—will see Xtreme Media working with all3media in the coming months to develop Hit It and ready it for pitching to broadcasters.

“Delighted to be here—and really here on the ground in Singapore together with the new Asia Pacific team with Sabrina [Duguet] at the helm,” said all3media International CEO Louise Pedersen in announcing the winner at ATF. “Sabrina, Kit and Alex will be spearheading our operation here, building on the successes we have already had in several territories in Asia. Our aim is to be even better in this region and to work even more closely with you; we really want to build relationships with you to our mutual benefit. To that end, our first initiative is to be the inaugural creative and commercial sponsor of the ATF Formats Pitch, which we are confident will showcase local talent far beyond the Asian region. I am pleased to say our five finalists cover a genuinely greater Asia footprint; there are ideas from China and Malaysia, two Singaporean entries and one from the Ukraine. We were really excited to hear about all the very distinctive formats that came out of the competition and we were very pleased with the response. I’d like to thank Nick Smith, our SVP of formats production for hosting, mentoring and coaching the entrants with the help of all the experienced producers in the All3Media Group at companies like Studio Lambert, Maverick, Optomen and the Objective Media Group.”

Introduced for the first time this year, the ATF Formats Pitch received entries representing nine countries: Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Ukraine and the U.S. Five finalists—from China, Malaysia, Singapore and Ukraine—pitched their concepts at a live judging session during ATF to a panel of illustrious television format experts.

William Lim, executive producer at Xtreme Media, said, “Participating in the inaugural ATF Formats Pitch has been an eye-opener, with many participants sharing new format ideas that we have never explored before. We are honored to have won the first-ever ATF Formats Pitch as we now have the opportunity to work with a well-established format distributor, all3media International, to further develop our concept.”
